The invention relates to a rechargeable battery which comprises a stack consisting of an anode, a separator saturated with an organic electrolyte, and a cathode. According to the invention, the stack is free of metallic lithium. In these circumstances, the anode is prelithiated and contains silicon, and the cathode contains sulphur. The invention also relates to a method of assembling this rechargeable battery.
