The invention relates to a method involving the steps of: a) providing a precursor confectionery mass in a liquid form; b) providing a support supporting a powder which has a powder level surface that includes a plurality of female molds; c) filling the female molds with the precursor confectionery mass; d) hardening the precursor confectionery mass; the powder having a particle size distribution that is characterized by i) D10 in a range of 6 to 10 μm, ii) D50 in a range of 12 to 16 μm, and iii) D90 in a range of 21 to 25 μm. The invention also relates to confectionery manufactured according to the production method of the invention; a product containing a flour; a hard candy having a diameter that is a strictly monotonically decreasing function; a use for producing confectionery; a device for producing hard candy; a method used with said device; and a hard candy obtainable by said method.
