The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a brush (8) for applying a product to the eyelashes or eyebrows, the brush having a twisted core (40) and bristles (41) held in the core, wherein (a) a brush blank, preferably having a rectilinear twisted core, is produced, (b) the core of the brush is deformed after it has been twisted, so as to obtain a core with a non-rectilinear longitudinal axis (Y), and then (c) the bristles are cut so as to give the brush a defined shape.
