An intravascular heat exchange catheter has serpentine-like supply and return conduits (106, 110) circulating working fluid with a heat exchange system (12) to warm or cool a patient in which the catheter is intubated. Furthermore, serpentine portions of the supply conduit establish axially longer segments and axially shorter segments and serpentine portions of the return conduit establish axially longer segments and axially shorter segments.
