An expandable intervertebral implant, including a superior and inferior members configured to engage a superior and inferior intervertebral body, and an expansion mechanism disposed between the members to selectively adjust separation between them. The expansion mechanism includes a proximal wedge structure and a distal wedge structure that are relatively translated between the superior and inferior members. The wedge structures are coupled to the superior and inferior members by a plurality of track structures and rail structures. The superior and inferior members are configured to mate vertically when the expansion mechanism is undeployed via conformal protruding and recessed features.
