The invention relates to a register method and system for flexo printing machines for setting the register of print substrate touching means (13, 14a, 14b, 15,16, 21-24) of a flexo printing machine. The method comprises detecting the position of at least two locations for printing media (13, 14a, 14b, 15,16, 21-24), comparing the actual values detected for the position with set values to determine relative positions, and determining an adequate register setting based on the determined relative positions.
