A rotating bearing assembly (100), such as a tapered roller bearing assembly, having a separate outer race (102), which, when installed coaxially within the inner diameter of a rotating planet gear (200) of a planetary gearing system, such as found in a wind turbine gear train, is secured relative thereto and against a tendency to precess or creep rotationally relative to the inside the inner diameter of the planet gear by an increase in surface contact area and mechanical interference from a surface texture (300) on the outer diameter surface (104) of the bearing outer race (102).
