The invention relates to a panel (1) for cladding walls (8), in particular a facade panel. The problem addressed by the invention is to provide a panel which is suitable for energy-efficient modernization of buildings, can be easily worked by the various skilled trades, is permanently weatherproof and achieves a significant insulating effect. This problem is solved by a panel with a rigid facing layer (2) to be arranged on the visible side and with an insulating layer (3) connected to the facing layer (2) on the wall side, wherein the facing layer (2) and insulating layer (3) are designed to be substantially equal in area but are arranged with a relative offset in the plane (E) of the interface thereof so as to form a tongue (5) and a groove (4), and wherein the facing layer (2) is composed of a solid plastic and the insulating layer (3) is composed of a foamed plastic.
