摘要:
An apparatus can be used to apply and remove fluids for processing biological samples. A specimen can be contacted with an applied fluid. The fluid is delivered between a first substrate and a second substrate. The first substrate carries a specimen. A fluid layer is formed in a gap defined by the first substrate and the second substrate. The first substrate is moved with respect to the second substrate to accumulate the fluid proximate to the periphery of at least one of the first substrate and the second substrate using capillary action. The accumulated fluid is removed from the gap.
