The present invention relates to a production method for a powder containing nanoparticles of an insoluble drug, a powder produced thereby, and a pharmaceutical composition containing the same. The method comprises the steps of: providing a uniformly dispersed solution of an insoluble drug which has been formed into nanoparticles in the presence of a surface stabilizer; mixing the uniformly dispersed solution with a water-soluble dispersant solution; and drying the resulting mixed solution and thereby recovering a powder. When the powder containing the nanoparticles of the insoluble drug obtained by the method of the present invention is again dispersed in an aqueous solution, the insoluble drug retains a particle size in the nano scale while the solubility and the dissolution rate of the drug are increased, thereby providing enhanced bioavailability. Consequently, the present invention can be used effectively in the development of otherwise insoluble drug preparations for oral or parenteral administration.
