Electrostatic spraying apparatus is provided of the type comprising a housing (2) having at least one nozzle assembly (10a) passing through a hole (6, 54) in a wall of the housing. A central tubular nozzle (21 , 58) conveys spray liquid from an inlet end to a twin fluid tip (23, 65) at an outlet end of the nozzle and into an atomization zone (33). A generally annular gas passage (27) surrounds the nozzle and communicates with the atomization zone for conveying atomising gas to the atomization zone and thence to a generally coaxial discharge channel (28) passing through a field electrode (17). The generally annular gas passage surrounding the nozzle communicates with the interior of the housing that itself serves as a supply conduit for the atomising gas. The apparatus typically has a plurality of longitudinally spaced nozzle assemblies located at selected positions along the length thereof. Nozzels and composite spraying apparatus are also described.
