A binding fastener that is easily assembled and is produced at low cost. The binding fastener (20) of a file (10) installed on a cover (12) that is formed such that a spine (12c) is bendable at the center in its width direction. The binding fastener includes one body (22a) and the other body (22b) that are formed of synthetic resin and are openable and closable. A synthetic resin lock member (32) having two-staged hook sections (34a, 34b) is integrally formed of synthetic resin with the one body (22a), and one prong member (60a) formed of metal is installed on the one body (22a). The other prong member (60b) made of metal is installed on the other body (22b). Further, a synthetic resin lever member (70) is slidably installed on the other body (22b).
