A ball for playing a game, particularly a game involving handling of the ball by players, wherein a predominant part of the outer surface (1) of the ball has a plurality of protuberances (2) each including a zone (4) formed by an angular conjunction between at least two surfaces (10). The protuberances may have a triangular, polygonal, or star shaped planform, as shown here with preferably four to eight points. The orientation of adjacent protuberances as regards the angular conjunctions may be varied.
