A beverage container comprising a container body (10; 20) including an opening and a removal a closure for closing the opening, the closure comprising a cap (11; 21) for covering the opening, the cap (11; 21) having a skirt portion (13; 23) with an over-centre mechanism moveable between an unsecured position and a secured position. The skirt portion (13; 23) is located beneath an external lip (10A) or projection on the container body (1) or within recesses (20A) in the external surface of the container body (20) when in the secured position. The closure preferably includes a foil (12) or other sealing member (22) for sealing the opening, the cap (11; 21) being fitted to the container body (10; 20) over the foil (12) or sealing member (22).
