A method for attaching a carrier, such as a trailer (210), to a dynamically balanced transporter (18). The carrier is attached to the transporter with a pivot (240). The pivot axis of the carrier is coincident with the axis of rotation (22) of the wheels (20) of the transporter. This method of attachment minimizes the impact of the trailer (210) on the ability of the transporter (18) to maintain dynamic balance and control.
