The present invention relates to an aligning fixture (80) having a support (110) with a reference surface (150), an aligning member (122) and an actuator (130). The actuator (130) is mounted to the support (110) and operably coupled to the aligning member (122). The actuator (130) moves the aligning member (122) selectively to a first position wherein the element to be aligned is spaced apart from the reference surface (150) and to a second position where the element can engage the reference surface (150) .
