A receptacle system for waste paper, toilet tissue and sanitary napkins, consisting of two portions, namely an upper portion comprising a plastic holder with a deodorising cover and an antiseptic inner surface, and a second or lower potion comprising a bag-like container made of impervious and/or waxed paper, characterised in that it has a special design. Toilet tissue and sanitary napkins can be deposited in the first portion (holder) whence they drop into the second portion or container (bag). The first portion is secured to the wall but can be selectively detached by hand. The second portion is secured to the first portion via a resilient system around the bag opening and held in place by a cord engaging flanges in such a way that when pulled it cannot be returned to the starting position or detached, whereby said second portion remains secured to the holder. When full, the bag can be pulled downwards or detached with a gentle tug. The cord is pulled again to seal off the contents of the bag and prevent it from being reopened. The only way to reopen the bag would be to tear or forcibly open it. A further feature of the receptacle system is the fact that the paper, tissue or sanitary napkins are no longer visible once they have been deposited in the holder. The two above-mentioned portions can be provided in a variety of colours and a variety of patterns to match the lavatory and bathroom walls, meaning that, in addition to being hygienic, they represent a decorative and harmonious addition to the sanitary facilities.
