A silver halide color photosensitive material having a high photosensitivity, undergoing little fog, excellent in granularity, and having a good stability of reproduction of skin-color gradation. The silver halide color photosensitive material is characterized in that the material has a support, nonphotosensitive layers and red-, green-, and blue-photosensitive layer units, each photosensitive layer being composed of two photosensitive layers, the nonphotosensitive layers being interposed between the red-photosensitive maximum photosensitive layer and the green-photosensitive minimum photosensitive layer, and all layers being formed over the support; the amount of silver applied to the red-photosensitive maximum photosensitivity layer is 0.1 to 1.0 g/cm ; the red-photosensitive maximum photosensitivity layer contains a non-diffusable DIR compound; the green-photosensitive minimum sensitivity layer contains a diffusable DIR compound; at least one of the nonphotosensitive layers contains an oxidation inhibitor having a specific structure.
