A rotary type fluid machine having a rotary valve (61) for controlling the suction and exhaust of working medium for a working section (49, 57)consisting of a group of axial piston cylinders, wherein a steam feed pipe (77) provided separately from a rotary valve main body (62)is installed on the axis (L) of a rotor (27) for feeding steam to the rotary valve (61), and a seal means (97) consisting of a gland packing is disposed between the steam feed pipe (77) and the rotary valve main body (62). The soft seal means (97), which has the function of preventing the movement in the direction of the axis (L) of the steam feed pipe (77) from being transmitted to the rotary valve (61), makes possible the reliably feeding and exhaust of steam with close contact for the slide surface (68) of the rotary valve (61) being secured while minimizing the leakage of steal from the outer periphery of the steam feed pipe (77) by the seal means (97).
