Processed baby foods are disclosed which are formulated with the following: A. Oils. Added oils to yield an acceptable ratio of the essential fatty acids, linoleic acid (LA) and alpha -linolenic acid (ALA), which are the precursors for the synthesis of two essential long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids: arachidonic acid (AA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).
