When a content management apparatus (110) is a copy origin and a recording medium (120) is a copy destination, and when the copy origin holds content copy enabled count control information and a content is copied from the copy origin to the copy destination, the copy enabled count control information held by the copy origin prior to the copy processing is updated according to a predetermined rule, so as to create copy enabled count control information held by the copy origin and copy enabled count control information held by the copy destination. Copy processing at the copy origin after is performed according to the copy enabled count control information held by the copy origin and copy processing of the content recorded in the recording medium (120) after is performed according to the copy enabled count control information recorded in the recording medium (120). Thus, it is possible to realize content management which is easily be understood by a user.
