A cleaning method for removing deposition such as scale adhering to the surface of a structure and a structure using this are disclosed. A surface layer containing a radioactive catalyst (5) is formed on the structure (1). The deposition adhering to the surface layer is decomposed by irradiating the surface of the structure with radiation, and/or the adhesion of deposition to the surface layer is suppressed. An anticorrosion method for lowering the corrosion potential at the surface by forming a surface layer containing a radioactive catalyst on the structure and irradiating the surface of the structure with radiation.
