The invention provides an organic silicon polymer containing 1 to 45 percent of metal oxide particles by weight; an inorganic fiber of oxide-containing silicon carbide with a base of the silicon polymer, which is highly oxidation-resistant, particularly in a high-temperature oxidative atmosphere containing moisture; an inorganic fiber with a crystalline silicon carbide base having a sintered structure; and methods of manufacture thereof.
