The invention relates to a method for determining the condition of a wiper-blade element for a wiper blade of a vehicle. In order to determine said condition automatically, the inventive method is characterised in that the number of repeat wiper cycles in intermittent mode is monitored as the influencing variable for the wear of the wiper-blade element and compared with stored comparison variables. A message is issued, once a predetermined configuration of monitored influencing variables and comparison variables has been reached.
