The invention relates to a process for metallizing ceramic products, comprising impregnating any surface of the product or at least one of its surfaces with a chemical composition which contains metal elements such as a paint applied by spraying. Thereby, said surfaces are provided with a layer which has an appropriate thickness and which gives a high conductivity and acts as an electrolytic conduction support in order to enable the electrodeposition of a metal coating which protects and decorates the ceramic product.
