A symmetrical picture is generated at a position which is point-symmetrical, line-symmetrical or plane-symmetrical with a main picture by generating the main picture by performing designated picture conversion on first source video signals and symmetrical picture conversion on second source video signals which are the same as or different from the first source video signals based on the picture conversion performed on the main picture and the point, line, or plane designated as the basis of the symmetry. Therefore, the symmetrical picture which is symmetrical to the picture-converted main picture can be obtained easily by only designating the point, line, or plane as the basis of symmetry.
