The invention concerns a shoe comprising the following: an insole (5) comprising: a structural sole (1) made of hard elastic material having a laterally stable and longitudinally stable structure and an outer sole and/or shock-absorbing elements (6, 8) made of comparatively soft, flexible sheathing material, the insole extending through a soft, flexible edge zone (2) beyond the edge of the structural sole; and an upper which, together with the insole, delimits the interior of the shoe. The insole edge zone, which extends beyond the structural sole, overlaps the upper and is securely joined to the upper material in the overlap zone. The shock-absorbing elements (6, 8) are located on the upper side and/or underside of the structural sole and project out, as discrete, elastically flexible prominences, beyond the upper side and/or underside, in particular the cross-sectional surface, of the structural sole. The invention also concerns a method of manufacturing a shoe of this kind.
