Permanent device for emptying the draining channels of metallurgical apparatuses essentially comprising a) a main refractory unit (10) with a substantially truncated-cone-shaped through space (11) and guide slides (15a) and (15b); b) a substantially truncated-cone-shaped refractory insertion piece (20), having, along its whole length, an inner channel (21) optionally partially or completely filled with a sealing mass, and insertable in the space formed in the refractory unit; and c) a sealing plate (30) to be inserted into the guide slides (15a) and (15b) of the main unit (10). The invention also concerns the use of such a device.
