A unitary sleeve (11) mounts both thrust and radial bearings, the radial bearing (13) being fabricated of macro-crystalline tungsten carbide powder and cemented tungsten carbide cobalt chips in a recessed area (14) on an elongated extension (15) and the thrust bearing comprising a ring (27) carrying diamond inserts (29) residing in through holes (28), the ring (27) and inserts (29), being brazed on a hub (18) at the thrust head end (17) of the extension (15).
