A blender base having a multiple push button switch and a knob set timer actuating device for presetting the time interval of operation of the blender and for actuating a switch slide to deenergize the blender at the end of the preset interval. The timer actuating device may also be knob set in an inactive mode for permitting indeterminate operation of the blender and in a hold mode for automatically returning a depressed switch push button when it is manually released.
