The present invention generally relates to a garment and method of use thereof for body temperature modulation of companion animals, specifically, a garment incorporates evaporative cooling, radiant cooling, or the combination thereof, which is configured to carry, e.g., ice in compartments that allow the melting ice to bathe the animal's skin directly in cool water, thereby facilitating evaporative and radiant cooling simultaneously, while adding only minimal weight to the animal's load. The garment comprises: a bodice, at least belt member having at least one adjustable fastening means, and at least one compartment for receiving a cooling and/or heating agent.
