An electrical assembly comprising a first electrical device comprised of a non-linear resistant, temperature responsive element and first and second electrodes, the device being connectable to a first power supply such that a first electrical current travels through the resistive element from the first electrode to the second electrode. A second electrical circuit is in electrical contact with the electrical device such that the second circuit may introduce a secondary electrically current into a localized portion of the non-linear resistant element, the second current, when applied to the non-linear resistant element, causes the element to change from a first resistant state to a second resistant state.
