The invention provides a user equipment (UE) and an information transmission method, the UE comprising: a housing; a controller and an optical communication device which are arranged in the housing, wherein the optical communication device is electrically coupled to the controller; a through hole provided on a side of the housing corresponding to the position of the optical communication device, such that the optical communication device is allowed to emit or receive optical signals through the through hole; the optical communication device is provided on two sides respectively with positioning magnets which are configured to magnetically attract a positioning magnet of another UE when the two UEs moves into proximity, so as to allow the through holes of both UEs to be aligned, thereby allowing the controllers of both UEs to communicate with each other through the optical communication devices. The presently disclosed UE and the information transmission method can prevent data sent by a user from being intercepted by other equipments, thus effectively improving security for the data transmission.
