The invented object uses the step processes of delivering cloth/grass, detecting the rear end, expanding and delivering in a more accurate and higher speeder manner to increase the overall handling capacity. The invention presents an automatic cloth/grass charging machine. The charging conveyor is used to deliver the cloth/grass. In the delivering process, the rear end of the cloth/grass is detected and then maintained in the delivery part. The rear end of the cloth/grass is used as the front end of the cloth/grass and then enter the process. To hold the left and right rear ends of the cloth/grass, the outlet side of the delivery conveyor (20) is equipped with a delivery part that includes expanding part (37, 38) set in pair. The delivery part has holding sheets (37a, 37b, 38a, 38b) that are approximately open and closed towards left and right when observed from a planar or a front side. In the open state, the delivery part is at the position near the lifting member (39) without touching it. In the close state, the delivery part is maintained in the cloth/grass rear end of the lifting member (39).
