The liquid crystal molecules are provided with pretilt; the first electrode is formed of a base layer 150 having a plurality of recesses and projections, and transparent conductive material layers 135, 145; a first transparent conductive material layer 135, which is connected to a first power supply unit, is formed on each projection top surface 151 of the base layer 150; a second transparent conductive material layer 145, which is connected to a second power supply unit, is formed on each recess bottom surface 152 of the base layer 150; and the first transparent conductive material layer 135 and the second transparent conductive material layer 145 are separated from each other.
