The purpose of the present invention is to provide a crosslinkable resin composition that is less apt to cause a pressure increase in the extruder into which the composition has been introduced and that can be continuously extrusion-molded over a prolonged time period into an insulating covering layer, thereby enabling the production of an electric wire or cable having an increased unit length. The crosslinkable resin composition according to the present invention comprises 100 parts by mass of an ethylene-based resin (A), a stabilizer (B) comprising 0.001-0.5 parts by mass of a hindered-amine light stabilizer (B3) that has a melting point or glass transition point of 100 C or lower, and 0.5-3.0 parts by mass of an organic peroxide (C), all the compounds constituting the stabilizer (B) each having a molecular weight of 1,500 or less.
