An objective of this invention is to readily realize an organic EL display device with a bottom-emission structure including a color filter. Provided is an organic EL display device, which comprises: a main body of display device 1 and a color filer 30 which are each independent of each other. The main body of display device 1 comprises: a base substrate 2 having a first surface 2a and a second surface 2b towering to the opposite directions; and a plurality of pixels 3 arranged on the first surface 2a of the base substrate 2. Each of the plurality of pixels 3 comprises a plurality of sub-pixels 4R, 4G, 4B. While observing from the direction perpendicular to the first surface 2a and the second surface 2b, the outer edges of each of the plurality of the sub-pixels contain a plurality of edges. The thickness of the base substrate 2 is in the range of 1/50 to 1/2 with respect to the length of the shortest edge of the plurality of edges of the plurality of the sub-pixels. The color filter 30 is attached on the second surface 2b of the base substrate 2.
