Provided are: a fastener stringer which is configured so that fastener elements are prevented from being damaged by a pointed metal object, a thread for sewing the fastener elements to a fastener tape is prevented from wearing away, and the fastener stringer allows a slide fastener to be easily attached to an object to which the slide fastener is to be attached; a slide fastener for a luggage case; and a luggage case. A fastener stringer is provided with a fastener tape (20), a first fastener element row (30A) which is provided to one surface of the fastener tape (20) and which has fastener elements (31), a second fastener element row (30B) which is provided to the other surface of the fastener tape (20) and which has fastener elements (31). The first and second fastener element rows (30A, 30B) are rows of coil-shaped fastener elements. The fastener elements (31) are each provided with an engagement head (31a), an upper leg (31b), a lower leg (31c), and a connection section (31d). The fastener elements (31) of at least one of the first and second fastener element rows (30A, 30B) are each provided with a stepped section (31e) which is provided to the upper leg (31b) so as to be recessed toward the lower leg (31c). A thread (33) for sewing the first and second fastener element rows (30A, 30B) to the fastener tape (20) is disposed in the stepped section (31e).
