A welding repairing technology for removing the welded defect region on a workpiece includes the following steps: providing a friction stir welding tool, the friction stir welding tool including a driver and a stirring rod driven by the driver, the stirring rod including a working portion, the distance between two furthest points located on edges of a cross section of the working portion being greater than the diameter of the welded defect region; rotating the stirring rod and extending the working portion into a region adjacent to the welding defect; moving the stirring rod toward the welding defect region and covering the welding defect region eternally; removing the stirring rod and hardening the welding defect region. The present further discloses a friction stir welding method using the welding repairing technology.
