This aims to provide a sintered magnet manufacturing apparatus capable of preventing the influences of a magnetic field, which leaks at an orienting step. The sintered magnet manufacturing apparatus comprises charging means (11) for charging a charge sintering container with alloy powder, sintering means (13) for sintering the alloy powder, and orienting means (12) having an air-core coil for generating a magnetic field to orient the alloy powder in the charge sintering container after charged and before sintered, such that the air-core coil has its axis arranged at a position offset from a straight line joining the charging means (11) and the sintering means (13). The magnetic field to leak from the orienting means (12) is the most intense on the extension of the axis of the air-core coil but relatively weak in a direction perpendicular to that extension. By deviating the axis of the air-core coil from that straight line, therefore, the intensity of the magnetic field to leak from the orienting means (12) can be suppressed at the positions of the charging means (11) and the sintering means (13), thereby to provide magnets of high characteristics.
