간판의 배경판(1) 윗면에 문자, 글자, 로고등으로 도안된 채널(2)을 설치하고 채널 내부에 LED SMD PCB(3)를 일정간격으로 배열한다. 이후 채널 내부에 LED 소자표면 위로 5mm 이하의 두께가 될 때까지 투명수지(4)로 충진한다. 수지 충진 후 수지 경화가 완료되면 채널의 모양에 맞는 덮개(5)를 설치하여 마무리 한다.
채널의 덮개는 LED 광투과율을 높이기 위해 폴리카보네이트 판 위에 도안과 일치하는 색상, 혹은 그림이 첨가된 컬러시트를 접착하여 마무리한다.
이로써 주간에는 채널 덮개의 컬러시트가 외부에 노출되어 광고효과를 얻고 야간에는 채널 내부의 LED로부터 발광되는 빛을 이용하여 광고효과를 얻도록 하는 것이다.
