The present invention relates to a carbonated water production device and a method for controlling the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided is a carbonated water production device comprising: a storage tank in which cold water is stored; a carbon dioxide cylinder in which carbon dioxide is stored; a mixer which is connected to the storage tank via a cold water supply passage, which is connected to the carbon dioxide cylinder via a carbon dioxide supply passage, and in which carbonated water is generated; a pump which is provided on the cold water supply passage, and which supplies the cold water of the storage tank to the mixer; a regulator which is coupled to one side of the carbon dioxide cylinder, which is connected to the cold water supply passage and the carbon dioxide supply passage, and which regulates the amount of carbon dioxide to be supplied based on pressure of the cold water; a power supply unit which applies first voltage to the pump; an extraction valve which is installed on an extraction passage configured to extract the carbonated water, generated by the mixer, to the outside; and a control unit: when a carbonated water generation signal is input, opens the extraction valve, closes the drain valve, and controls the power supply unit to apply the first voltage to the pump; when carbonated water extraction time based on the carbonated water generation signal has elapsed, controls the power supply unit to apply second voltage to the pump during first time after passage of the carbonated water extraction time; when second time has elapsed after passage of the carbonated water extraction time, closes the extraction valve; and when third time has elapsed after passage of the carbonated water extraction time, opens the drain valve.
