The system and method is configured to process the motion data associated with the user. The system and method is configured to calculate the motion properties from the data to receive motion data from a sensor, and using one or more mathematical models to classify the motion data. Attribute may be calculated without having to classify the motion data to the activity. Attribute may be compared to a mathematical model. Motion data and attributes of the user in the model may be independent of the activity of any type. Attribute may be compared to select the one of the action classification model from one or more energy expenditure of energy spent to one model, or one or more activities selected classification model from the model. Then, the linear motion drive (linear travel motion) may be classified or energy expenditure is calculated as the data received.
