The method for beam forming WiFi, feedback, and sounding (WiBEAM) is described. The beamforming feedback signaling and the sounding mechanism of the codebook-based for use in a wireless communication is disclosed. The methods described herein, Givens rotation-based degradation in the use and improve feedback efficiency by quantizing a result of the angle of the Givens rotation-based degradation using a range of from a subset of [0,2π]. The feedback also can be divided into a plurality of components so as to improve the efficiency of the feedback / precision. Using the channel while still reversible web radio frequency (RF) time domain beamforming reported that taking into consideration the channel disorders are also described. Beamforming Feedback priority of feedback bits based on the importance of the bitwise OR is also disclosed. Codebook design that can be used in the preamble structure, the codebook-based beamforming feedback to enable the use of a smoothing method for improved channel estimation, and the multi-resolution explicit feedback is also disclosed.
