The optical device includes a substrate having first and second array of optical couplers which is located along the planar surface. The optical coupler of the first array are arranged laterally along the surface to the end face and an end coupled in a one-to-one manner to the optical core corresponding to a first multi-core fiber adjacent to the first array. Claim is arranged laterally along the surface facing the second array of optical coupler of the second array and to combine in a one-to-one manner to the end of the optical fiber core corresponding to the one or more optical fiber ends adjacent. The optical switch network is optically connected to so as to selectively engage a portion of the optical coupler of the first array in a one-to-one manner to the optical coupler of the second array.
