Surgical instrument includes a body, an ultrasonic transducer, a shaft, and an end effector. The ultrasonic transducer is operable to convert the electric power into ultrasonic vibration. The shaft is coupled with the end effector and the main body. The end effector includes an ultrasonic blade which acoustic communication with the ultrasonic transducer. Ultrasonic blade includes a recessed area having a plurality of recesses. A recess region is formed tapered such that the cross-sectional area of the recessed area reduces along the length of the recessed region. Ultrasonic blades also, the center longitudinal axis of the ultrasonic blade is curved so as to extend along a curved path. The reference circuit is used to prevent the voltage drop of the value of the image during the operation of the surgical device.
