In the present invention, an embodiment was provided a data transmission and reception method and apparatus, the data transmission method port a group media access control protocol data units, one with the length of the G-MPDU or multiple media access control protocol data unit MPDU to the G-MPDU and; residual length gets the fragmented MPDU by fragmentation of the current MPDU according to the remaining length when not enough to port the current MPDU; and porting said fragmented MPDU to the G-MPDU; G-MPDU potting is complete, to include transmitting. The method is more able to ensure a high transfer rate, and also prevents a waste of time to the execution of the segmentation process and also to ensure a relatively high utilization of resources and can be prevented by the waste of the remaining length for full use of resources.
