Using a flat transparent sheet, and an optical touch screen configured to determine the location of the touch event on the transparent sheet is disclosed. The light source element and the light-sensing device are disclosed to enable operation in the transparent sheet periphery. The light is detected in accordance with the line-of-sight between light source elements and the light-sensing device. The gamswa line of sight is determined due to a touch event. Polygon are set by, for each photo-sensing device overlaps the triangle defined by the limited line-of-sight. Polygons with the attenuation of the attenuation under the threshold are removed. Then, the center of the remaining polygons are determined to set the position of the touch event. The system and method provides a robust detection of multiple touch events.
