Vent valve assembly (10, 110, 210, 310) has a first housing element (20, 120, 220, 320), a second housing element (22, 122, 222, 322), and a third housing element (24, 124 , 224, 324), as well as a first valve (12, 112, 212, 312) and second valve (14, 114, 214, 314). First, second, and third housing element, the second housing element, the first valve and the second valve is located between the first and third housing elements and also a second valve is spaced from the first valve in the lateral direction in the state it is configured to be assembled together along a longitudinal axis (E). The assembled first, second and third housing elements, thereby reducing the overall height of the vent valve assembly defining a non-linear steam flow path (A, B, C) to change the direction of the steam to the second valve from the first valve .
