It is disclosed by directional solidification, including at least one removable cooling plate disposed below the crucible. In the first position, the cooling plate are not in contact with the crucible supporting portion disposed adjacent to the crucible. In the second position, the cooling plates are in contact with the crucible supporting portion. This control system is used to control the amount of force exerted by the cooling plates for the crucible.
